Position: Administrative Assistant

Redeemer Community Church in Katy, TX is looking to hire a new Administrative Assistant

Lead by Pastor Mitch Maher and located in the beautiful Cinco Ranch neighborhood of Katy, Redeemer is a Gospel-loving, Bible-teaching church that aims to equip, encourage, and challenge people to joyfully follow Jesus and help others do the same. Our church family is about 450 strong, and we have wonderful ministries to God's people of all ages, as well as a love for supporting ministries in our city and around the world.

The role of the Administrative Assistant is to oversee all activities of the church office and provide a welcoming, positive, and confidential environment for all visitors during office hours. The Administrative Assistant also provides support for church activities and Redeemer’s staff. This position handles many aspects of behind-the-scenes communication, administration, and logistical duties to support the church.

  • Provide a welcoming, warm, positive, and confidential environment for all visitors during office hours. Receive guests, schedule meetings, answer/screen/route phone calls, respond to voicemails and email, manage all mail.

  • Provide administrative support to Pastor Mitch and other staff members as needed.

  • Purchase and maintain office supplies: paper, pens, coffee, plates/utensils, toner, etc.

  • Calendar Coordination: Throughout the year coordinate and maintain the church calendar to ensure facilities are used efficiently.

  • Manage and keep logins and passwords for all Redeemer's online software/accounts: SecureGive, Constant Contact, Church Community Builder, Google Mail, Quickbooks, TypeForm, Church Plant Media, Nucleus, Canva, etc.

  • Facility Management – Coordinate and manage groups and dates/times the facilities/ballfields are in use: Young Life, Capernaum, Boy Scouts, Community Bible Fellowship, Chinese Church, etc. Administer policies and procedures concerning the use of all church property and facilities, including coordination of assigned rooms for meetings and activities. Work with our Pointmen to identify and fix problems/needs both inside and outside the facilities.

  • Vendor Management – Manage all of Redeemer's vendors: Copier, Cleaning Crew, Lawn Crew, Sprinklers, HVAC Maintenance, Internet/Phone, Security System/Cameras, Waste Removal, Mag Locks, Electricity, Fire, Water, Fire Extinguishers, Energy Brokerage, etc.

  • Assist our Deacon of Finances with appropriate financial tasks: collecting receipts, Credit Card Management, submissions for payment, etc. Record weekly contributions and deposits. Prepare all annual tax reports (W-2's, 1099's, etc.). Produce other financial-related reports/projects as assigned when needs arise. Maintain strict confidentiality related to financial contributions to Redeemer Community Church.

  • Website Management – Maintain the accuracy of both redeemercommunity.org and redeemercommunity.life to ensure updates are regularly made. Perform regular comb-throughs of the church websites for outdated/inaccurate information, broken links, etc. Collaborate with ministry directors to update and maintain accurate website information. As time allows, improve the look, feel, and information on both sites.

  • Church Communication - Strategically communicate key events and information to the church by producing the weekly Worship Guide, the Friday email, and other printed communication and managing registration for events via redeemercommunity.life.

  • Maintain and update church records (for attendance, membership, etc.) using the church database software (Church Community Builder). Provide reports to the Lead Pastor/Elders as requested. Make sure that CCB groups like New to Redeemer and Our Church are kept up to date, along with the appropriate lists in Constant Contact.

  • Help staff with event planning and execution: Church Picnic, Fall Festival, Christmas Party, etc.

  • Maintain an inventory of appropriate church property and equipment. Keep track of any warranties and insurance related to all property and equipment.

  • Benevolence: Vet and manage benevolence requests that come to us from outside the church body.

This position reports to the Lead Pastor, Mitch Maher.

This position works closely with all church staff and is encouraged to build a small team of office volunteers. 


  • With additional responsibilities, or as the church and this role grows, this can become a full-time position (40 hours). But, we anticipate it starting as a part-time position now (25-30 hours per week): Monday - Thursday, 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. (30 minute lunch), Friday, 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m., and Sunday, 8:30 a.m. - 12:00 noon.
