RKM Parent Handouts

A resource to help equip parents to be the spiritual leaders of their homes!

What is it?

We believe that families are an essential part of the faith journey of kids. Our goal is to come alongside you, the parents, to equip you to teach your children the love of God.

We want to equip you with the resources necessary to be the spiritual leaders of your home, and hope this resource is a helpful tool for you!

How should i use it?

Each week, your child will come home with a new handout that talks about what they learned this week, the Christ connection of their lesson, their memory verse, and a couple of starter questions for you to start Gospel-centered conversations with them!

when can i use it?

We recommend bringing it to lunch and talking about it after church, in the car ride on the way home, or at the dinner table!

Family Activity: Talk as a family about different ways you can share the gospel with others. Practice using gospel tracts, personal testimonies, or other evangelism methods. Then pray for God to present opportunities for your family to share the good news about Jesus with boldness.

Family Activity: Allow each family member to pick a random household object. Present “unordinary” uses the object could have, like a fork that could be used to paint lines. Then discuss how each object may have multiple uses but it was originally created for a singular purpose. Discuss how we were created to glorify God.

Family Activity: Talk with kids about any fears they have. Write down each fear on individual notecards. Then spend time looking up encouraging Scriptures that combat those fears and write them on the other side of the notecards. For example, if kids are afraid of the dark, you might write the words to John 1:4-5.

Family Activity: Share your testimony with your kids. Tell the story of when you heard the gospel and believed in Jesus. If kids have professed faith in Jesus, allow them to also share their testimony. Spend time praying that your family would be known for sharing the message of the gospel with others.
